Winter activities abound in and around Westchester. Here are some of our favorite picks.

From November 6-22, on Thursdays and Fridays, M&M Performing Arts presents Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, at the Lyndhurst Carriage house. The story revolves around two wealthy bachelors as they invent fictional personas to escape dull social duties…complicated when they both fall for the same woman. Lyndhurst also presents Fleurs de Ville—a fresh floral celebration inspired by the HBO series The Gilded Age, from December 4-13.

The Annual Holiday Boutique at The Manor Club is open November 6, 7 and 8, for a $5 admission fee that is good for any or all of the days. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Performances of The Lion in Winter, at the Schoolhouse Theater in Croton Falls, will be running from December 4-20. Described as “wickedly funny,” the story revolves around Christmas in 1183, when King Henry II has brought together his combustible family for the holidays. For details, visit theschoolhousetheater.org.

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is hosting a Winter Wreath-Making workshop on December 3, led by floral designer Abby Blatte. The event will start with a self-guided tour of the West Corridor of the Rosen House. For a complete list of offerings at Caramoor, click here.

Lifelong learning abounds at the New York Botanical Garden. Classes, such as Gardening in Pots and Planters, teaches the basics of choosing and using potting soil and plants, along with maintenance skills to keep your plants thriving. Wellness offerings include Natural Soap Making, Holiday Herbal Mocktails, Herbal Honey, and Herbal Salves and Creams for Winter Skincare, and Herbal Chocolates, among others.

Looking for unique holiday gifts? How about visiting one or more holiday fairs? The Grand Central Holiday Fair will be set up in Vanderbilt Hall from November 9 through December 24. The 2026 New Rochelle Holiday Market runs Thursdays through Sundays, from December 3-20. The Tarrytown Music Hall’s Sip Taste Shop Holiday Event is a two day celebration: December 1 and 2.

The Music Hall will also be hosting an array of one-date events we think you should consider: Small Town Murder (November 13); The Taconic Opera’s performance of Beethoven Symphony no. 9 (November 14); Live Talks with author Amy Tan, discussing her book The Backyard Chronicles (November 15); Michael Lewis in conversation with Jacob Weisberg discussing his new book, Blockers: Rebels in the Deep State (December 7). This is not an exhaustive list so visit their website.

The Scarsdale Adult School has a wide range of worthy events. A few that caught our eye include: the November 19 Culinary Walking Tour: Chinatown; Walking Tour: American Stories from Sargent O’Keeffe at the Bruce Museum, on November 17; Paint Night on December 10 (materials will be supplied); and learn Rummy and Contract Rummy on December 14—just in time for winter! For those hunkering down at home, know that the adult school has plenty of Zoom offerings, including a variety of book discussions and museum tours.
