Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst returns to Westchester on SEPTEMBER 18-20. Set against the spectacular autumn landscape of the historic Lyndhurst estate overlooking the Hudson River, this annual event offers a weekend of shopping, fine craftsmanship, delicious food, family activities, and the beauty of the season. Steinyfest’s 7th annual independent music festival will take place on Saturday, OCTOBER 3, at its new home on the elevated parking deck at the Larchmont Metro-North Station. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, running for 44 nights in Croton-on-Hudson, from SEPTEMBER 18 through NOVEMBER 8, has an expanded path featuring exciting new attractions. The Creature Feature Forest pays tribute to Van Cortlandt Manor’s history as home to a drive-in movie theater in the mid 20th-Century, inviting visitors to meet a cast of classic movie monsters carved entirely from pumpkins. Nearby, Literary Lane reimagines familiar fables, giving classic children’s tales a whole new glow. On the lawn of the site’s regal manor house, visitors are invited to an interactive dance party.
In addition to the above, Historic Hudson Valley has a range of other offerings for the Halloween season, including Twilight Village at Sleepy Hollow, The Headless Horseman Files, The Spirits of Sleepy Hollow Country, Irving’s Legend and—of course—An Audience with Poe.
The Jazz Room, in Manhattan, will be celebrating two of the most influential musicians of all time on SEPTEMBER 20 and OCTOBER 22: Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong.
